Are you passionate about cooking?
We are seeking a talented and dedicated chef to join our rehabilitation team on a casual basis. Your role will be to prepare nutritious, delicious meals tailored to meet the nutritional needs of our clients, thereby contributing to their recovery and overall well-being.
ABI Rehabilitation provides rehabilitation services to individuals with mild, moderate, and severe acquired brain injuries in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. For over 20 years, we have been delivering exceptional care to clients and their families, guided by our core values of compassion, integrity, and excellence.
As our chef, you will:
- Work in a supportive and collaborative environment with a dynamic inter-professional team.
- Cater to diverse dietary requirements, ensuring every meal is both nutritious and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals for clients with varying dietary needs.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage food inventory and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Foster a positive dining experience for clients and their families.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified chef with appropriate cooking certification and/or training.
- A minimum of four years’ professional experience in a culinary role (ideally in healthcare industry).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on teamwork and initiative.
- Empathy and understanding toward clients and their whānau.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
