ABI Rehabilitation is CARF (Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited and a leading service provider in brain injury rehabilitation for adults.  We are a well-established service, with a focus on quality and evidence-based best practice.  ABI Rehabilitation is passionate about providing world class, person-centred rehabilitation to our clients.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Neuro-Physiotherapist to join our Wellington Intensive Inpatient Service. You will become part of a skilled, friendly, and supportive interdisciplinary team, working alongside two experienced Physiotherapists and colleagues across Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health services.

About the role

You will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention for adults with acquired brain injury (ABI), supporting their rehabilitation journey from the immediate post-acute phase through to community reintegration.

The role offers a varied clinical caseload and the opportunity to apply your expertise across neurological, musculoskeletal, respiratory, and vestibular rehabilitation.  A strong interest in acquired and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, intervention, and ongoing management for clients with acquired brain injury.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised rehabilitation plans and treatment strategies.
  • Support clients to improve physical function, mobility, independence, and participation in daily activities.
  • Provide education, guidance, and training to clients and their family/whānau.
  • Contribute to rehabilitation outcome measures, clinical documentation, and report writing.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, person-centred rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to staff education, training, and ongoing service development.

What we offer

At ABI Rehabilitation, we value professional growth, collaboration, and high-quality clinical practice.  You will benefit from:

  • Mentoring and supervision from experienced senior Physiotherapists.
  • Regular professional supervision and in-service training.
  • Ongoing clinical education and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration with an experienced interdisciplinary team.
  • A supportive and welcoming environment that encourages learning, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with acquired brain injury.

Join our team

If you are a motivated Physiotherapist with a passion for neurological rehabilitation and a commitment to person-centred care, we welcome your interest in joining our Wellington Intensive-Inpatient Service.
